What is an internship?Internships offer the possibility for undergraduate students to acquire practical experience and get credit for it. Under the supervision of faculty member or graduate students, interns are involved in research projects and lab activities. They can learn and improve in methods and skills not only relevant for their classes, but also for their future career. Students have the opportunity to earn UCD units for their work.

CEAD offers various opportunities for undergraduate internships from specific projects advertised (see resource section above) to customized projects designed with the students. Volunteers are encouraged to contact the coordinator or other CEAD members to further discuss the possibilities. Usually, 3 hours of internships correspond to 1 UCD unit. Depending on the type of internship, students who have completed 84 total UCD units may be eligible to receive upper division units under ANT 192 credit.
